Tobacco at The Point of Sale

Point of Sale

When we reference "Point of Sale" or "POS" in our work, we are discussing the deceitful marketing tactics by big tobacco where tobacco is sold, like gas stations, grocery stores and others.

The next time you are in one of these places, think about why are these products priced, placed or promoted how they are? and is it for the benefit of my community?

School Prevention Strategies

Protecting youth from the harms of commercial tobacco and nicotine addiction is a top priority of the SCP workgroup. We work alongside middle and high schools in Marion County to 1. create nonpunitive policies that encourage students to quit 2. Implement preventive education in classrooms and 3. Educate and offer cessation and tobacco prevention information to the whole school community including family, staff, teachers and admin.

Breathe

The purpose of Breathe is to train staff at organizations serving Hoosier families, including Head Start centers, about the impact of secondhand and thirdhand smoke and the importance of smoke/vape free environments for their children.

Breathe is a tobacco education program managed by Health Ed Pros with funding from TPC and includes a wealth of resources developed by McMillen Health.
